Kim Kardashian Gets The Blast Of Her Life For Claiming Herself To Be Virgin Mary

If only she had known she wouldn't have gone with that act, her very own fans have been antagonizing her on all over the social media there is.

Kim Kardashian West is coming under fire for her latest update to her Kimoji collection. On Thursday night, the 36-year-old reality star had a major reveal on her Kimoji Instagram account, showing off the newest addition: Kim as Virgin Mary. The Kimoji debuted in a tryptic, each post distorted in a slightly different manner: one very pixelated, one blurring in-and-out of frame, another breaking into psychedelic copies and moving around the square-shaped screen.
Unlike many of her emojis that exist only in the messaging app, this one has been given a real-life update, as she’s selling a “Kim Candle,” complete with her Virgin Mary–inspired likeness on the front. The candle is for sale here for $18, promising to ship a week after purchase.
But the candle is not being received well. Many people online are criticizing the star for the imagery, labeling it as sacrilegious, and calling the entire concept disrespectful considering the "Kim candle" is taken from prayer candles used in Christian worship. Furthermore, the candle has cultural appropriation implications, since the candle resembles the veladoras that are closely tied to Latinx culture.

(This is far from the first time someone has put Kim's image in the likeness of the Virgin Mary on candles, as a number of online retailers have done for years.)
"I'm Catholic we use candles with images of saints, the Virgin Mary etc. For prayer for healing and other reasons. #disapointed #disrepectful," one Twitter user wrote.
And many Instagram users are flooding her account with the hashtag #christiansboycottkimoji.
This is the second time this week Kim has been called out for her actions. Earlier in the week, she was slammed for a statement that implied that having the flu was a great way to drop a few extra pounds.
What’s more, Kim's husband Kanye West just recently released a line of jewelry under his Yeezy label that depicted religious imagery in a way that he felt was an authentic representation. (Both Kim and Kanye are open about their Christian faith, and have been regularly photographed leaving church with the rest of the Kardashian family.)
Kim has yet to comment on the controversy.
